'Metaporphosis' - a visual and psychosocial reflection by @juliankrauss

What if death isn’t just an ending, but a threshold?

In Metamorphosis, photographer and researcher Julian Krauss invites us into the in-between: a space where identities dissolve, forms shift, and something else - unspoken, unfinished - emerges.

Drawing on his experiences in ethnographic research, personal encounters with grief, and moments of ego-shedding catharsis, Julian blends image and introspection to explore the psychic and embodied transitions we often bypass with tidy metaphors.

Rather than treat death as a natural cycle or spiritual abstraction, Metamorphosis asks: What is actually happening as we change? What do we lose, what do we find - and are we asking the right questions about what it means to end and begin?
